Experience the Colour & Energy of the Highlands
Mount Hagen Show returns to Queen’s Park in Mount Hagen from 14–16 August 2026, bringing together tribes and cultural groups from across Papua New Guinea in one of the country’s most iconic cultural celebrations.
One of Papua New Guinea’s Great Sing-Sings
First staged in 1961 before Papua New Guinea’s Independence, the Mount Hagen Show was originally created to promote unity among tribes from across the Highlands region. Today, it remains one of the nation’s most exciting and visually spectacular cultural events.
Throughout the three-day festival, visitors can witness powerful sing-sing performances, traditional dances, ceremonial dress, tribal rituals, drumming, and feasting, as cultural groups proudly showcase their traditions and identity.
Culture, Music & Arts
Beyond the cultural performances, the show also features contemporary entertainment from local musicians and artists, alongside vibrant arts and crafts displays highlighting the creativity of Papua New Guinea’s artisans.
Set in one of the Highlands region’s largest and busiest commercial centres, the Mount Hagen Show offers visitors an unforgettable opportunity to experience the culture, energy, and community spirit of the Highlands.
