Discover the rich flavours, culture, and agricultural heritage of Bougainville at the Bougainville Chocolate Festival 2026, taking place from 23–25 September 2026 at Buin Sports Oval, South Bougainville.

Recognised for producing some of the finest cocoa in the Pacific, Bougainville’s fertile soils and tropical climate have helped establish the region as an emerging destination for premium chocolate production. The festival celebrates the people behind the industry – from cocoa farmers and local entrepreneurs to chocolate makers, communities, and cultural groups.

Held under the theme “Bougainville Cocoa: Our Pride, Our Future”, the festival highlights the important role cocoa plays in supporting sustainable livelihoods, community development, and economic growth across the region.

Visitors can enjoy a diverse program of activities including chocolate-making demonstrations, cocoa exhibitions, seminars and workshops, farm excursions, competitions, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities. The event provides a unique opportunity to learn about the journey of cocoa from farm to chocolate bar while meeting local producers and experiencing Bougainville’s warm hospitality.

Whether you are a chocolate enthusiast, agricultural professional, traveller, or simply curious about one of Bougainville’s most important industries, the Bougainville Chocolate Festival offers an authentic and enriching experience that connects visitors with the land, its people, and their stories.
