PNG Showcases Its Tourism Experiences at NATAS Travel Fair 2026

PNGTPA and Air Niugini are promoting Papua New Guinea’s culture, natural beauty and distinctive travel experiences to the Southeast Asian market at one of Singapore’s leading travel exhibitions.

The Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA), in partnership with Air Niugini, is showcasing Papua New Guinea’s remarkable tourism experiences at the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) Travel Fair 2026.

Held under the theme “A World Within Reach”, the three-day travel exhibition is taking place from 21–23 August at the Singapore EXPO. Recognised as one of Asia’s leading consumer travel events, the fair provides an important platform to promote Papua New Guinea’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings to travellers and industry partners.

This is the second consecutive year that PNGTPA and Air Niugini have participated in the NATAS Travel Fair.

The event officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by dignitaries and representatives of the tourism and aviation industries, including Papua New Guinea’s High Commissioner, His Excellency Kapi Tau Maro; Air Niugini Chief Commercial Officer David Glover; and Air Niugini Regional Manager Asia Joshua Koh.

During his official remarks, His Excellency Kapi Tau Maro acknowledged NATAS for providing an important international platform through which Papua New Guinea can share its tourism potential.

“The NATAS Travel Fair offers an excellent platform for our national airline, Air Niugini, in partnership with PNGTPA and tour operators, to actively promote PNG as a destination. PNG’s rich cultural heritage and pristine environment are treasures we aim to share,” His Excellency said.

He added that these tourism initiatives, supported by 50 years of strong bilateral relations between Papua New Guinea and Singapore, are helping position PNG as a must-visit destination.

PNG tourism businesses Kokopo Beach Bungalow and Karanas Comfort Tours are also participating in the event, introducing visitors to holiday packages designed around the country’s culture, adventure and warm hospitality.

The fair enables PNGTPA and its partners to engage directly with travellers from Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian market, strengthen relationships with international travel-trade partners and promote Air Niugini’s direct connectivity between Singapore and Port Moresby.

Visitors to the PNG exhibition are also experiencing the country’s rich cultural heritage through live performances by the Paluai Sooksook Performers from Manus Province, the Amidal String Band from East New Britain Province and the Kairuku Dance Troupe from Central Province.

Together, the groups are sharing a vibrant glimpse of the traditions, music and cultural diversity that form part of Papua New Guinea’s “A Million Different Journeys” destination brand.

Air Niugini Chief Commercial Officer David Glover said participation in international travel events such as NATAS strengthens Papua New Guinea’s visibility in Asia, creates opportunities for new partnerships and bookings, and reinforces Air Niugini’s role in connecting Singapore and Asia with Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.

Exclusive, limited-time travel packages have also been developed by Air Niugini and PNGTPA in collaboration with local tour operators, hoteliers and other industry partners. Combining special airfares with tailored itineraries, the packages make it easier for Asian travellers to discover Papua New Guinea’s world-class diving, birdwatching, cultural festivals and pristine island escapes.

Air Niugini Regional Manager Asia Joshua Koh encouraged visitors to experience the cultural performances at the PNG booth, learn more about the country’s destinations and take advantage of the special travel offers available during the fair.

The 2026 NATAS Travel Fair brings together close to 100 exhibitors, including travel agencies, national tourism organisations, airlines, cruise operators, hotels, resorts, financial institutions, insurers and other travel-related businesses.◼️
