THE BEST TIME TO DIVE IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
Papua New Guinea enjoys a hot and humid tropical climate year-round, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 30°C at the coast. The rainy season runs from December to March, with variations depending on the region, but the rains never prevent diving; only visibility may be affected. The season is reversed in Milne Bay, where rainfall is heavier from May to August. Water temperatures range from an average of 25°C in the south to an average of 29°C in the northern islands. The peak season is from April to October.

Papua New Guinea lies at the heart of what scientists call the Coral Triangle, an area of immense biodiversity encompassing Indonesia, the Philippines, East Borneo, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. It includes more than 600 species of coral and over 3,000 species of fish. Biologists estimate that Papua New Guinea is home to more than 80% of these species. The influence of strong ocean currents from Indonesia and the equator is significant. They bring vital nutrients for the growth of corals and fish, from the smallest to the largest.
